Legal & Community Rules

XZDDev projects are independent open source apps, websites, tools, and related materials created and maintained by Aaron Doe (XZDDev). They are provided for general informational, educational, and personal use.

1. ReleaseQuest Accounts

A ReleaseQuest Account is optional. You are responsible for activity performed through your account and for ensuring that your profile information is lawful, accurate, and appropriate. Do not share credentials, authentication codes, or other security information. We may restrict or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce these rules, prevent abuse, or comply with law.

2. Community Rules

Profile names, usernames, biographies, pictures, and other content must not:

• Harass, threaten, bully, exploit, or encourage harm toward another person.
• Contain hateful, sexually explicit, graphically violent, or otherwise seriously objectionable material.
• Impersonate another person, organisation, developer, platform, or ReleaseQuest representative.
• Promote scams, spam, malware, illegal activity, or attempts to evade service safeguards.
• Expose another person's private or sensitive information without permission.
• Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other third-party rights.

Use the safety menu beside a profile to report or block a user. Blocking removes friendships and pending requests and prevents the two accounts from finding or viewing one another. Reports may be reviewed and acted upon. We may remove content, restrict discovery, suspend functionality, preserve necessary evidence, or terminate an account when reasonably appropriate. Knowingly false or abusive reports are also prohibited.

3. Licence for Profile Content

You retain ownership of content you provide. You grant XZDDev a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, transmit, and display that content only as necessary to operate, secure, moderate, and improve the ReleaseQuest Account features according to your visibility choices. This licence ends when the content or account is deleted, except where limited retention is legally required.

4. Account and Content Deletion

You can delete your ReleaseQuest Account in the app or request deletion through the account-deletion page. Deleting an online account does not automatically delete lists, notes, journals, preferences, or other information stored only on your device.

5. Game Information and Third-Party Services

Release dates, descriptions, ratings, completion estimates, artwork, trailers, and other game information may be supplied by third parties and can be incomplete, delayed, or changed without notice. Always confirm important release or purchasing information with the relevant publisher, developer, retailer, or platform holder.

ReleaseQuest may use or link to Firebase, Apple, Google, IGDB/Twitch, YouTube, app stores, and other third-party services. Those services are operated under their respective terms and policies. XZDDev is not responsible for third-party content, availability, privacy practices, security, or decisions.

6. Nintendo and Other Rights Holders

ReleaseQuest is an independent, third-party release tracker and companion app for the Nintendo Switch family of consoles. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo. Nintendo Switch, Nintendo, game names, artwork, logos, and other trademarks and copyrighted materials belong to their respective owners.

7. Open Source and Intellectual Property

Open source code is made available under the license included with the relevant repository or project. If no license is provided for a specific item, all rights are reserved by the relevant rights holder.

8. Availability and Warranty Disclaimer

XZDDev projects are provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. This includes, without limitation, warranties of availability, accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.

9. Limitation of Liability

XZDDev is not responsible for any loss, damage, interruption, data loss, device issue, or other consequence arising from the use of, inability to use, modification of, or reliance on any XZDDev project, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

10. External Links

Some projects may link to third-party services, app stores, repositories, documentation, APIs, or websites. These services are operated by their respective owners. XZDDev is not responsible for third-party content, availability, privacy practices, terms, licenses, or policies.

11. Changes and Contact

These terms may be updated as ReleaseQuest and applicable requirements change. Continued use after an update means the revised terms apply to future use. Questions, safety concerns, and rights-holder notices can be sent to acdelectrical@icloud.com.
